A Laundry List of Silver Linings

I am going to start 2022 off on the right foot!

I am going to do this by laundry listing all of the good things that are going on in my life at this moment. It doesn’t mean the garbage stuff doesn’t still exist, just that I am going to start this year off looking on the bright side! I encourage you, make your own list!!! It’ll feel good and you’ll be glad for it.

Here goes…

  • I love my little family!

  • I love that I am ringing in the new year in state # 36 for the girls!

  • I love that travel is part of our family culture!

  • I love that I can remotely attend IEP meetings all around the state, allowing me to help more kids!

  • I appreciate that the courses I teach are now all online.

  • I can work from anywhere that has decent internet.

  • I love that my kids have good child therapists to help them navigate this challenging time.

  • I love the grief group that I virtually attend every Thursday.

  • I love that this year, I worked on my relationship with God and realized that the feeling of not being connected to Him is all me. He is always there!

  • I am grateful for friends who rally around me when I ask for help!

  • I am grateful for friends who can have radio-silence for weeks or months and pick right back up where we left off!

  • I’m glad that the pharmacist was wrong and that my new medication has not been discontinued by the manufacturer!

  • I am glad for the way the lights on the Christmas tree reflect off of the wood floor.

  • I’m thankful that, after a year of waiting, the entire contents of our living and dining rooms are in boxes in the living room, marking the beginning of the construction of our new kitchen!

  • I am thankful no one in our home had covid in 2021!

  • I am thankful no one in our family passed away this year.

  • I am thankful for cars that are reliable.

  • I love my best-boy, Howard (the Labradoodle).

  • I love our mail carrier, Prime delivery drivers, Fed-Ex, DHL, etc.

  • I’m so glad I don’t have to dig my car out from under snow!

  • I’m thankful for puppies and kittens and thankful that I have neither at the moment.

  • I am thankful for family who are friends and friends who are closer than family.

I’m excited to see what amazing adventures lie ahead in 2022! If you are not feeling the silver-linings thing, try to make your 2022 wish-list instead. We have another 364 days to be grumpy, negative, and phooey, for today, January 1, 2022 - let’s start off on the right foot! Happy New Year!
